PRESS: Region group to build toll ring highway south from Moscow

MOSCOW, Mar 5 (PRIME) -- Region group of companies, which is reportedly affiliated with Russian oil major Rosneft, plans to invest in construction of a paid high-speed backup of the Moscow Ring Road – a half ring that will run from Solntsevo through Butovo and Lytkarino to Zheleznodorozhny, business daily Vedomosti reported Thursday citing sources.

A relevant agreement was signed with the Moscow Region’s government in February, several sources close to the sides of the deal and a representative of the regional government told the daily.

The cost of the 53-highway is estimated at 86.7 billion rubles, and the concession term is 29 years. The concessioner, the Lytkarino Toll Highway, will build only a part of the highway from Butovo to Zheleznodorozhny, while the part of the highway from Solntsevo to the Varshavskoye Highway will be built by the Moscow authorities.

The road will become the closest backup for the Moscow Ring Road – it will pass at a distance of 1–12 kilometers, the agreement said. The route will be clarified after design and examination.

Construction of the highway could be completed by the end of 2026.
